 Novosoft began distributing Handy Backup in August 2001. Since then we received plenty of valuable feedback from our customers with their comments and suggestions on further improvement of the program. Based on this feedback, Novosoft has released Handy Backup 3.0 - the commercial version of our freeware product.
The new Handy Backup 3.0 release has been reworked to increase reliability and performance of the program - no more "communication problems" between backup agent and main program, no more problems with firewall software. Improved user interface, uninstall option, compression quality (zip) options (fastest to smallest), backup of opened files, multiple folder processing and number of other minor improvements has been made in response to feedback we received from our users.
Handy Backup 3.0 is an easy-to-use yet powerful backup program designed for Windows 9x/NT/2000/Me/XP. It makes an automatic backup of critical data virtually to any type of storage media: floppy disk, hard drive, network drive, or a remote FTP server. Strong file encryption and multi-choice zip compression on the fly as well as many other useful features will protect your valuable data. All backup activities are recorded in details in a log file. Handy Backup 3.0 works with files organized in Items. Item contains information about original and storage location of files, special procedures (compression, encryption) and scheduling.
New Item Wizard is intended for creation of new Handy Backup Items. This procedure takes a very little time, just click "Create Item" button and follow detailed instructions of the Wizard. You only need to setup it once and Handy Backup will monitor changes and execute scheduled backups and synchronizations at the time you specify.
